travel day
today i: go to work. take a cab from work to the train station. take a train. take a plane. take another plane. take a cab to my hotel.
approximate time from work to hotel - 9 hours.
this does not sound like fun.

Remember, in the white collar there tends to be a direct inverse relationship to how unpleasant the circumstances of your job are and how well it pays.
9 hours in a plane = nice raise.
Enjoyable commute with pleasant coworkers = ramen for dinner.
There are always exceptions, but generally you get compensated for doing stuff no one else is eager to do. This is why plumbers make more than I do, and why I don't begrudge them the difference. :)
