Some Kind of Monster
Last night my husband and I watched Some Kind of Monster, the documentary about Metallica that came out last year. It would be an understatement to say that I am not a fan of the band or of heavy metal in general, and yet, I found the film engrossing. It was less about the band, or the group therapy they undergo, than it was about the creative process... or, as a critic from the Village Voice put it, creative torture.
